In the summer in Doha, you don't get up to a whole lot of original activities. It is hot. Really hot.
A Doha summer resembles a Canadian winter - you spend a lot of time indoors. At your house, at your friends' houses, at the mall and sometimes even the movie theatre. You "pre-chill" the car instead of "warming" it. You run from AC to AC instead of from heated building to heated building.
That basically sums up our summer so far. Since I returned from France in June, our weekends have looked a lot like this...
-Casey goes diving either Friday or Saturday and I go to work
-I also try to go to the gym and/or do yoga at home
-We either go out for dinner (restaurant or friend's house)
-The remaining weekend day is errands: groceries, cooking, cleaning, etc
Exciting stuff. Guess what? Our life hasn't changed so much despite being so many kilometres away. It just looks different.
Canada Day we went out for sushi with our fellow Canadian friends to NEO. The weekend after we had a birthday brunch at the W Hotel with the after party at the birthday girl's house.
Sundays we try to Skype with friends and family. Mondays are for swimming and WW. Tuesdays are for Casey going to his dive club meetings. Wednesday Casey plays golf and I have been attending an ad-hoc French conversation class for beginners. Thursdays are usually quiet. For Friday and Saturday (see above).
